The 2022 Domaine Pierre Usseglio Lirac is a beautifully crafted Southern Rhône red from one of Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s most respected family estates. Predominantly Grenache with Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault from 40-year-old vines, the wine is fermented with meticulous care and matured in concrete vats and demi-muids to preserve both fruit purity and regional character. Often described as a "baby Châteauneuf-du-Pape", it offers impressive depth, spice and value while reflecting the pedigree of the Usseglio family.
The nose reveals aromas of blackberry, black cherry and raspberry layered with liquorice, garrigue herbs, cracked black pepper and subtle spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with generous dark berry fruit supported by silky tannins and refreshing acidity. Rich yet beautifully balanced, it finishes long and savoury with notes of herbs, black cherry and gentle spice, delivering excellent complexity and finesse.
