RIPPON
Rippon is one of New Zealand’s most iconic and terroir-driven wineries, located in Central Otago on the shores of Lake Wānaka. Family-owned and farmed by the Mills family, Rippon is widely regarded as a pioneer of biodynamic viticulture in New Zealand, producing some of the country’s most distinctive and site-expressive wines.
The estate’s vineyards are planted on ancient glacial soils with stunning lake and mountain influences, creating a unique microclimate that allows for slow, even ripening. This results in wines with exceptional purity, structure and mineral complexity.
Rippon is best known for its Pinot Noir, which is considered among the finest in New Zealand. The wines are typically elegant, savoury and finely structured, showing red cherry, plum, spice, dried herbs and earthy notes, with strong ageing potential. The estate also produces outstanding Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc, reflecting the same precision and terroir expression.
