The 2017 Freemark Abbey Bosché Cabernet Sauvignon is a distinguished single-vineyard Napa Valley red from the historic Bosché Vineyard in Rutherford. A blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Merlot, it shows black cherry, blueberry and raspberry with dark chocolate, cedar, black pepper, leather and earthy notes.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and concentrated with dark cherry and blackcurrant fruit, fresh acidity and well-resolved tannins. Ageing for 27 months in French oak, 68% new, adds cedar and spice while maintaining balance through the long, savoury finish.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is a great choice for Cabernet collectors who enjoy structured Rutherford reds with mature complexity and excellent ageing potential. Drinking well now, it can continue developing for many years with careful cellaring. Pair with grilled steak, roast lamb, slow-cooked beef or mature hard cheeses.
