The 2024 Les Pallières Au Petit Bonheur Rosé is a dry Southern Rhône blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Clairette, offering an unusually pale colour and a distinctive, gently rounded texture. It comes from Domaine Les Pallières in Gigondas, the historic estate acquired in 1998 by the Brunier family of Vieux Télégraphe and Kermit Lynch. Bottled as Vin de France, the wine draws on organically farmed estate vineyards with clay and limestone soils. Direct pressing is followed by fermentation and maturation in large wooden demi-muids, an approach that contributes breadth and complexity while preserving the wine’s freshness and delicate fruit expression.
The 2024 reveals white peach, nectarine, melon and citrus, with hints of bitter cherry, toasted almond, wild herbs and saline minerality. Its broad middle palate is balanced by a clean finish and a gentle touch of tannin, giving it considerable presence with food. Stuart Pigott awarded 91 Points for JamesSuckling.com, highlighting its almond and stone-fruit character, while Billy Norris awarded 91 Points for Vinous, praising its distinctive flavours, texture and energy. Wine Spectator added 90 Points, noting citrus peel, fragrant herbs and subtle oak. Together, these assessments describe a layered rosé with freshness, savoury detail and satisfying persistence.
