VIEUX TELEGRAPHE

Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe is an iconic estate in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation of the Southern Rhône Valley, France. Family-run since 1898 by the Brunier family, the domaine takes its name from a historic telegraph station that once stood on the property. Situated on the renowned La Crau plateau, Vieux Télégraphe’s vineyards benefit from one of the region’s most celebrated terroirs. The plateau’s distinctive galets roulés—large, rounded stones—retain heat and aid in ripening the estate’s traditional Rhône varieties, including Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah, planted across 70 hectares.

The Brunier family embraces traditional winemaking practices that highlight the unique character of La Crau. Grapes are hand-harvested, followed by fermentation in concrete and stainless steel tanks. Aging takes place in large foudres for up to 20 months, allowing the wines to develop complexity and structure while preserving the purity of fruit. Vieux Télégraphe’s wines are celebrated for their robust structure, concentrated flavors of dark fruit, herbs, and spice, and their ability to express the La Crau terroir with elegance and power. With over a century of heritage, Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe remains a benchmark for Châteauneuf-du-Pape, blending tradition with modern practices to sustain quality and sustainability. Its wines stand among the finest in the Rhône Valley, making it a must-know name for lovers of bold, expressive wines
