BEAUNE
Beaune is the historic heart of Burgundy’s wine industry and one of the most important appellations in the Côte de Beaune, France. Often referred to as the wine capital of Burgundy, Beaune is home to numerous renowned producers, wine merchants, and the famous Hospices de Beaune.
The region benefits from a cool continental climate and limestone-rich soils, ideal for producing both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The vineyards are well-situated on gentle slopes, allowing for optimal sun exposure and drainage, contributing to wines with balance, structure, and terroir expression.
Beaune produces both red and white wines, though it is particularly known for its Pinot Noir. The red wines are typically medium-bodied, offering flavors of red berry fruit, earth, and spice, with fine tannins and aging potential. The white wines, made from Chardonnay, are fresh and balanced, with notes of citrus, orchard fruit, and subtle minerality.
As a central and historic appellation in Burgundy, Beaune offers a wide range of terroir-driven wines, combining tradition, accessibility, and classic Burgundian character.
