DOMAINE SCHOFFIT

Domaine Schoffit is a respected family-owned winery in Colmar, in the Alsace wine region of northeastern France, known for producing a wide range of high-quality Alsatian wines from some of the region’s most prestigious terroirs.

The estate is run by Bernard Schoffit and his son Alexandre, with roots stretching back several generations and formal establishment in the 1970s. Their vineyards extend to about 17 hectares across notable sites, including the volcanic Grand Cru Rangen de Thann, the granitic Sommerberg Grand Cru, and the alluvial Harth parcels near Colmar. These varied soils give rise to distinct wine styles and are part of what makes Schoffit’s wines unique.

Schoffit cultivates a broad assortment of Alsace grape varieties, including Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Auxerrois and Chasselas, as well as some Pinot Noir. The domaine is particularly noted for its expressive Grand Cru wines from Rangen de Thann, widely admired for their depth, intensity, and capacity to age. Alongside these, their “vieilles vignes” (old vines) cuvées — such as Chasselas and Pinot Blanc — offer vibrant fruit, minerality and character.

While Schoffit’s winemaking honors traditional techniques, the family also embraces organic and biodynamic practices to respect and express terroir, with many vineyards farmed sustainably and wines fermented with minimal intervention to preserve purity and aromatic clarity.

Overall, Domaine Schoffit represents both Alsace’s rich viticultural heritage and innovative terroir expression, crafting wines that range from racy, mineral dry whites to rich, complex Grand Cru bottlings appreciated by collectors and wine lovers alike.
