The 2019 Château Mont-Redon “Le Plateau” is a flagship single-parcel Châteauneuf-du-Pape, sourced from old vines (80–100 years) on the estate’s high, stony plateau — one of the most prized terroirs in the appellation. Built on a 50/50 blend of Grenache and Syrah, it represents a more concentrated, structured and age-worthy expression compared to the estate’s classic cuvée.
The nose is intense and layered, showing ripe black cherry, blackberry and plum, alongside liquorice, dried herbs, clove and smoky spice. There is a clear Rhône signature of garrigue, savoury complexity and mineral depth, with both red and dark fruit in balance.
On the palate, it is full-bodied with a powerful yet refined structure, supported by ripe, firm tannins and significant concentration. Layers of dark fruit, spice and earthy notes unfold with depth and precision, leading to a long, persistent and savoury finish. The 2019 vintage is notably more structured and brooding, built for long ageing, with a drinking window extending well into the 2030s.

At Wine More Cellars, this is a serious “top cuvée Châteauneuf-du-Pape” — essentially a step above classic village-level wines and closer in style to flagship Rhône bottlings like Beaucastel or top Gigondas. Compared to standard Châteauneuf, this is deeper, more structured and significantly more cellar-worthy. It’s ideal for collectors or customers who enjoy powerful Rhône blends but want precision and ageing potential. This is not an immediate-drinking wine — it needs time or proper decanting. Drink from 2025 onwards or cellar for 15–20+ years. Perfect with lamb, game, slow-cooked meats or rich French cuisine.
