The 2025 Borgo Maragliano La Caliera Moscato d'Asti is a beautifully aromatic Moscato from the steep hillside vineyards of Piedmont, crafted from 100% Moscato Bianco di Canelli grown at around 360 metres above sea level. Produced by the family-run Borgo Maragliano estate, the wine reflects the lifted perfume and freshness that high-altitude Moscato vineyards can deliver. The nose is intensely expressive, revealing aromas of candied citrus, white peach and ripe pear layered with acacia blossom, violet and delicate musky notes.

On the palate, it is light-bodied with a soft, creamy mousse and refreshing natural acidity that balances the wine’s gentle sweetness. Flavours of mandarin, peach and fresh grape are supported by floral lift and subtle honeyed notes, while the low alcohol and lightly sparkling style keep the wine vibrant and highly approachable. Cool fermentation in pressurised tanks preserves aromatic purity and natural fruit sweetness, while the finish remains fresh, delicate and finely balanced rather than overly rich. The wine’s soft effervescence and bright acidity give it excellent drinkability and versatility with food.

Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this Moscato d'Asti is an excellent choice for customers who enjoy lightly sparkling dessert wines with freshness, floral aromatics and lower alcohol. Particularly well suited to fruit tarts, panna cotta, lemon desserts, fresh berries or soft blue cheeses. It also pairs surprisingly well with lightly spiced Asian dishes where the gentle sweetness balances aromatic spice. Best enjoyed well chilled while youthful and vibrant over the next 1–3 years.
