The 2026 Dormilona Orenji is a vibrant skin-contact blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc from Margaret River, crafted by Jo Perry of Dormilona. Produced from organically farmed fruit and fermented on skins for two weeks, the 2026 vintage draws fruit from Wilyabrup and Karridale following fire impacts in Yallingup, delivering a fresh and approachable take on orange wine.
The nose bursts with blood orange, grapefruit zest, mandarin peel and guava, while the palate is dry, textural and energetic with gentle tannin, bright acidity and a savoury saline finish. Less overtly funky than many orange wines, it offers plenty of character while remaining refreshing and highly drinkable.
Ben’s Recommendation:
A fantastic introduction to orange wine and one of Australia’s most enjoyable examples. Fresh, textural and incredibly versatile, it pairs beautifully with grilled seafood, chilli salt squid, roast chicken, Mediterranean mezze and spicy Asian dishes. Best enjoyed young over the next 2–4 years while its vibrant fruit and energy are at their peak.
