The 2024 Théo Dancer Vin de France Jurassique Savagnin Magnum (1500ml) is a precise, mineral-driven white sourced from Rotalier in France’s Jura region. Made from 100% Savagnin grown on chalky clay over limestone, it is vinified in an ouillé, or topped-up, style to preserve freshness rather than develop the oxidative character associated with some traditional Jura wines. Aromas of lemon zest, green apple and pear are joined by white flowers and wet-stone minerality.
On the palate, it is dry and finely textured, with bright acidity and flavours of citrus, crisp orchard fruit and preserved lemon. A saline, chalky edge carries through to a long, focused finish. The magnum format encourages slower development, allowing the wine’s freshness and mineral structure to evolve gradually.
Ben’s Recommendation: At Wine More Cellars, this magnum is an excellent choice for customers who enjoy energetic, mineral-focused whites with distinctive regional character. Pair it with oysters, grilled prawns, roast chicken, Comté or creamy mushroom dishes. Serve lightly chilled rather than very cold, and consider decanting when young. Enjoy now or cellar for the next 8–10 years.
