The 2024 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Monthélie Rouge is a finely detailed Pinot Noir from the Côte de Beaune and an excellent introduction to PYCM’s increasingly sought-after red wines. The 2024 vintage marks an expanded focus on Monthélie within the domaine’s red portfolio, alongside the Premier Cru bottlings La Riotte and Clos des Champs Fulliot.
The wine shows bright red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry with subtle floral, earthy and spice notes. The palate is elegant and energetic, with fresh acidity, fine tannins and a delicate mineral character. Rather than emphasising power, the style focuses on purity, freshness and finesse, making it an attractive expression of both Monthélie and Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey’s precise approach to Pinot Noir.
Ben's Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is a superb entry point into the red wines of Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey. Compared with the domaine’s Monthélie Premier Crus, it is lighter and more immediately approachable, while still showing the precision and refinement associated with PYCM. The 2024 vintage should appeal to Burgundy lovers looking for elegant, fresh and terroir-driven Pinot Noir. Drink from 2027 onwards or cellar for 6–10 years. Perfect with duck, roast chicken, pork, charcuterie and mushroom dishes.
