The 2024 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Blanc “Au Bout du Monde” is a high-altitude Chardonnay from the lieu-dit En Creuzilly, near Nolay. The vines sit above 400 metres on clay-rich soils and are typically harvested around a week later than PYCM’s vineyards around Chassagne-Montrachet, giving the wine exceptional freshness and tension. Frost dramatically reduced the 2024 crop, with approximately 70% lost at this site.
The wine shows fresh citrus, lime blossom and white flowers with PYCM’s characteristic subtle reductive edge. The palate is compact and linear, combining crisp acidity with chalky minerality and impressive depth. Jasper Morris MW scored it 87–88 points, noting greater tension and potentially greater length than the domaine’s regular Bourgogne Blanc.
Ben's Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent introduction to the white wines of Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey. Compared with the regular Bourgogne Blanc, it is tighter, more mineral and structured, with its high-altitude terroir bringing additional freshness and precision. The tiny frost-affected 2024 production also makes this a particularly compelling vintage for PYCM collectors. Drink from 2027 onwards or cellar for 5–8+ years. Perfect with oysters, scallops, grilled fish, roast chicken and soft cheeses.
