The 2024 Fratelli Alessandria Dolcetto d'Alba is a classic expression of Dolcetto from the historic village of Verduno in Piedmont. Produced by one of Barolo’s most respected family estates, the wine is sourced from several estate vineyards planted on limestone-rich marl soils. Fermented and matured in stainless steel and cement, it is designed to highlight the freshness, fruit purity and effortless drinkability that make Dolcetto such a beloved local variety.
The nose offers black cherry, plum, blueberry and violet with hints of lavender and spice. Fresh and juicy on the palate, it combines vibrant dark fruit with soft tannins and a rounded, balanced texture, finishing with the subtle almond note typical of great Dolcetto. Antonio Galloni awarded the wine 90 points, praising its expressive fruit, floral lift and immediate charm.
Ben’s Recommendation:
A brilliant everyday Piedmont red that perfectly captures the charm of Dolcetto. Fresh, approachable and incredibly food-friendly, it pairs beautifully with pasta, pizza, charcuterie, grilled chicken and casual Italian fare. Enjoy over the next 3–5 years while its vibrant fruit and youthful energy are at their best.
