The 2023 Yeringberg Chardonnay is a refined cool-climate Chardonnay from one of the Yarra Valley's most respected family-owned estates. Produced during a cool growing season, it displays lifted aromas of white peach, nectarine and citrus blossom, layered with notes of toasted almond, oyster shell and subtle flinty complexity. Careful barrel maturation and wild fermentation contribute additional texture while preserving the wine's purity and vineyard expression.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with bright natural acidity and a finely textured mouthfeel. Flavours of lemon zest, grapefruit, white peach and nectarine are supported by subtle oak influence and a gentle creamy complexity from time spent in barrel. The wine is precise and balanced, finishing long with mineral freshness and impressive persistence.
Ben's Recommendation: At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent Chardonnay for those who appreciate elegant, cool-climate styles with both freshness and complexity. Drinking beautifully now, it also has the structure to develop further over the next 6–8 years. Pair with grilled seafood, roast chicken, creamy poultry dishes or soft-ripened cheeses.
