A vibrant Rhône-inspired blend from Bryan Martin, led by Shiraz with Grenache and Mourvèdre playing supporting roles. Sourced from cool-climate vineyards across Hilltops and Murrumbateman, the wine focuses on fragrance, freshness and drinkability rather than power. The nose shows blackberry, plum and red cherry alongside violet, dried herbs, black pepper and subtle spice. There’s a lifted floral character and savoury edge that gives the wine plenty of energy and personality.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied, supple and juicy with bright acidity, fine sandy tannins and crunchy dark fruits carrying through the finish. Silky and fresh in style, with Rhône-like spice and savoury complexity balanced by excellent drinkability.
Ben’s Recommendation:
A beautifully balanced modern Australian GSM-style blend — fragrant, savoury and incredibly food friendly. More medium-bodied and energetic than richer South Australian examples, making it ideal for drinking young. Great with braised meats, pizza, lamb or chargrilled dishes. Drink now through 2032+.
