The 2023 Künstler Kostheim Weiß Erd GG Riesling Trocken is a magnificent VDP Grosses Gewächs from one of the Rheingau's most prestigious vineyards. Meaning "White Earth", the south-facing Weiß Erd site is defined by its distinctive white calcareous marl soils, which give the wine exceptional purity, texture and mineral drive. Hand-harvested fruit is gently pressed and fermented exclusively in large old oak casks, resulting in a Riesling of remarkable precision. The nose is intensely aromatic, offering white peach, papaya and citrus blossom layered with chalky minerality, blood orange and delicate floral notes.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with vibrant natural acidity, impressive concentration and a creamy yet finely structured texture. Layers of ripe stone fruit and citrus are framed by striking saline minerality and chalky tension, leading to a long, powerful finish that is both energetic and beautifully refined.
