The 2022 Amelia Park Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a single-vineyard Margaret River Cabernet sourced from a dry-grown site in Wilyabrup. The nose shows cassis, blackberry and forest fruits with black olive, bay leaf, graphite, cedar and subtle leather notes, capturing the savoury character associated with Cabernet from this part of Margaret River.
On the palate, it is medium-to-full bodied with concentrated blackcurrant and dark berry fruit, fresh acidity and fine, structured tannins. Hand-picked fruit spends extended time on skins before 18 months in French oak, including 40% new barrels, adding cedar and cocoa complexity while maintaining balance and length.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is a great choice for Cabernet Sauvignon drinkers who enjoy structured Margaret River reds with dark fruit, savoury complexity and fine tannins. It has excellent cellaring potential of 10+ years. Pair with roast lamb, grilled steak, slow-cooked beef, mushroom dishes or mature hard cheeses.
