The 2021 Domaine Collotte Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes is an elegant old-vine Pinot Noir from Chambolle-Musigny in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, produced predominantly from 40–50+ year-old vines situated directly beneath Premier Cru vineyards. Around 80% of the fruit comes from Les Échanges, together with Les Athets and Les Chardannes, with a small contribution from neighbouring Les Herbues. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted, fully destemmed and given a cool pre-fermentation maceration before ageing for approximately 12 months in French oak, around 25–30% new. These mature vines provide greater depth than one might normally expect from village-level Chambolle while preserving the perfume and delicacy that define the appellation.
