The 2021 Bouchard Père & Fils Le Corton Grand Cru is a refined 100% Pinot Noir from the historic Le Corton climat in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune. The 2021 vintage shows lifted strawberry, raspberry and red cherry with rose petals, subtle spice, white pepper and smoky mineral notes.
On the palate, it is concentrated yet fresh, with lively acidity, powdery tannins and layers of red fruit leading to a long, mineral and savoury finish. The east-facing vineyard’s pebbly clay-limestone soils contribute freshness and structure, while French oak maturation adds depth without overwhelming the Pinot Noir.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for collectors who enjoy elegant Grand Cru Burgundy with freshness, structure and strong ageing potential. Best from around 2027 onwards, with potential to develop through the 2040s under good cellaring conditions. Ideal with roast duck, venison, mushroom dishes, roast lamb or aged cheeses.
