The 2017 La Rioja Alta Gran Reserva Viña Arana is a classic Rioja crafted from 95% Tempranillo and 5% Graciano, sourced from select vineyards in Rioja Alta. Aged for three years in American oak barrels followed by extended bottle maturation, it beautifully balances vibrant fruit with the hallmark elegance of traditional Rioja. The nose is intensely aromatic, revealing black plum, wild strawberry and ripe red berries, layered with balsamic notes, vanilla, brioche, cedar and warm baking spices.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with silky tannins, lively acidity and exceptional harmony. Flavours of ripe cherry, blackberry and redcurrant are complemented by hints of toffee, tobacco, clove and gentle oak, leading to a long, fresh and refined finish. While already drinking beautifully, its balance and structure will allow it to develop gracefully over the next 15–20 years.
