The 2004 La Rioja Alta Gran Reserva 904 is a beautifully mature, traditionally styled Rioja from an outstanding vintage. A blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano, it offers complex aromas of dried cherry, red berries and plum alongside balsamic herbs, leather, tobacco, smoked meat, incense, vanilla and truffle.
On the palate, it is seamless and refined, with savoury red fruit supported by vibrant acidity and fully resolved, silky tannins. Extended ageing in seasoned American oak contributes gentle vanilla, coconut and sweet spice without overwhelming the wine’s freshness. Elegant rather than heavy, it finishes exceptionally long with lingering cherry, leather, spice and earthy complexity.
