Xige Estate is one of the leading modern wineries in Ningxia, located at the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains—widely regarded as the heart of China’s fine wine movement. Founded in 2017 by Bordeaux-trained winemaker Zhang Yanzhi, the estate represents a new generation of Chinese wine producers combining global expertise with a strong sense of local identity.

Built on a large-scale vineyard base exceeding 1,000 hectares, Xige Estate integrates advanced “smart agriculture” systems with meticulous vineyard management to maximise fruit quality and consistency. The winery is equipped with state-of-the-art international technology and was among the first in China to achieve the highest global food safety certification, reflecting its commitment to precision and quality at every stage of production. 

At the core of Xige’s philosophy is the pursuit of a distinctive Chinese terroir expression. The estate focuses on varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Gernischt, alongside Chardonnay and emerging experimental grapes, aiming to define a signature style that reflects Ningxia’s dry climate, intense sunlight, and complex soils.
