The 2024 Weingut Knoll Riesling Loibenberg Federspiel is a dry Wachau Riesling from the steep terraces of the Ried Loibenberg vineyard. Grown on shallow Gföhler gneiss soils, it shows white peach, pineapple and papaya with mandarin zest, delicate florals and a subtle stony mineral character.
On the palate, it is fresh and finely structured with lively acidity, white peach and ripe citrus flavours. A distinct saline, mineral line gives the wine precision, while fermentation in stainless steel and brief maturation in large old wooden casks add gentle texture. The finish is dry, lemony and persistent.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is a great choice for Riesling drinkers who enjoy elegant Wachau whites with bright acidity, stone fruit and mineral freshness. Enjoy now or cellar over the next 5–10 years. Pair with grilled fish, prawns, schnitzel, roast chicken, fresh salads or vegetable dishes.
