2022 Gómez Cruzado Crianza is a classic red from Rioja DOCa in northern Spain, produced by the historic Gómez Cruzado winery in Haro’s Barrio de la Estación, the traditional heart of Rioja winemaking. The wine is crafted from a blend of Tempranillo (around 75%) and Garnacha, sourced from high-altitude vineyards in Rioja Alta and the Sierra Cantabria foothills.
The 2022 vintage shows expressive aromas of red cherry, blackberry and plum, layered with notes of liquorice, sweet spice and subtle oak. The palate is smooth and balanced, combining ripe red and dark fruit with refined tannins and lively acidity. Hints of cocoa, herbs and toasted oak add complexity, leading to a long, elegant finish.
Aged for around 12 months in French and American oak barrels, this Crianza offers the classic Rioja combination of vibrant fruit and integrated oak, making it both approachable and structured.
