2018 Gómez Cruzado Viña Dorana Reserva is a classic Rioja Reserva from the historic winery Gómez Cruzado in Haro, Rioja Alta, one of the most prestigious areas of Rioja. The wine is crafted from a blend of Tempranillo (60%) and Garnacha (40%) sourced from old bush vines in the Alto Najerilla zone at elevations of around 600–710 metres, giving the wine freshness and structure.
The 2018 vintage reveals aromas of black cherry, blackberry and ripe plum, layered with notes of cedar, liquorice and sweet spice from oak ageing. On the palate, rich dark fruit is balanced by refined tannins and vibrant acidity, with hints of cocoa, herbs and toasted oak adding depth and complexity.
The wine is aged for around 24 months in French and American oak barrels followed by additional bottle ageing, creating the classic balance between fruit purity and oak complexity that defines traditional Rioja Reserva.
