The 2022 G.D. Vajra Barolo Ravera is a single-vineyard Nebbiolo from the prestigious Ravera MGA in Novello. Grown on a south-facing amphitheatre between 300 and 380 metres, it shows Morello cherry, blood orange and red berries with violet, star anise, cedar, tobacco leaf, liquorice and earthy mineral notes.
On the palate, it is deep and structured with vibrant acidity, juicy red fruit and broad, finely woven tannins. A 47-day maceration followed by 22 months in large Slavonian oak casks builds depth while preserving freshness. Sweet spice, aromatic herbs and a saline mineral character carry through to a long, savoury finish.
