Plumm is an Australian wine glassware brand founded in Melbourne in 2009, created from the Valmorbida family's more than 50 years of experience in making, importing and selling wine. The idea behind Plumm is deliberately simple: the shape of a glass can significantly influence the aroma, flavour and texture of wine, but choosing the right glass should not need to be complicated.
Unlike traditional glassware collections built around dozens of individual grape varieties, Plumm groups wines according to their broader wine styles. Working with sommeliers and winemakers, the brand developed specific glass shapes for categories such as full-bodied reds, lighter reds, crisp whites, fuller-bodied whites and sparkling wines.
Plumm's crystal glassware is made in Europe from lead-free crystal, drawing on longstanding European glassmaking traditions. Both machine-made and handmade collections are available, with the brand emphasising clarity, balance and durability alongside elegant proportions. Many of its stemmed glasses are formed from a single piece of crystal with a seamless pulled stem.
The Plumm Vintage collection represents the brand's original style-focused philosophy. Five principal shapes cover sparkling wine, crisp white wine, fuller-bodied white wine, lighter to medium-bodied reds and full-bodied reds. This allows wine lovers to select appropriate glassware without needing a different glass for every grape variety.
For an even simpler approach, Plumm Three reduces the collection to just three ultra-fine European crystal glasses. No. 1 is a universal glass particularly suited to full-bodied reds; No. 2 is designed for aromatic and crisp whites and sparkling wine; and No. 3 is designed around Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, lighter reds and fuller-bodied whites. The collection was developed in collaboration with leading sommeliers.
At the premium end of the range, Plumm Handmade Vintage features individually mouth-blown lead-free European crystal. Larger bowls provide additional space for premium wines to breathe, with separate shapes designed around different red, white and sparkling wine styles.
The broader Plumm collection also includes the practical Everyday range, stemless glassware, decanters and barware.
