FAMILLE PERRIN

Famille Perrin is one of the most respected and influential family-owned wine producers in France’s Southern Rhône Valley, with a winemaking tradition that stretches back more than a century. The story of the Perrin family began in 1909 when Château de Beaucastel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape was acquired by Pierre Tramier and later developed by his son-in-law Pierre Perrin; today the business is run by the fifth generation, making wines that reflect a deep respect for terroir and tradition.

The Perrins are pioneers of organic viticulture in the region, having farmed organically since the 1950s and introduced biodynamic practices in the 1970s — long before these approaches became widespread. Their philosophy centres on promoting soil health, minimal intervention, and expressing the distinctive character of each vineyard.

Under the Famille Perrin banner, the family produces a wide range of wines that showcase the diversity of the Southern Rhône. These include classic Côtes du Rhône reds and whites (blends of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and white Rhône varieties) as well as more specific regional expressions. Their winery portfolio spans prestigious appellations such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Vinsobres, and Cairanne, often combining power, balance and freshness.

Famille Perrin also owns well-known labels like La Vieille Ferme, a popular range of approachable wines, and is involved in other estates across Provence and beyond. Their wines are widely appreciated for their quality, regional character, and consistent value, making them great ambassadors of Rhône winemaking around the world.

In essence, Famille Perrin represents generational expertise, sustainable farming, and authentic expression of the Rhône’s terroir, combining historic estates like Château de Beaucastel with a broad portfolio that brings the region’s richness to wine lovers worldwide.
