FAMILLE HUGEL
Famille Hugel is a historic family-owned winery located in the Alsace region of France, with winemaking roots dating back to 1639. Based in the village of Riquewihr, the estate is internationally renowned for producing high-quality wines that showcase the purity and precision of Alsace’s aromatic grape varieties.
Alsace benefits from a semi-continental climate with long, dry autumns, ideal for achieving full ripeness while preserving acidity. The region’s diverse soils—including limestone, clay, sandstone, and granite—contribute to wines with complexity, structure, and strong terroir expression.
Famille Hugel specializes in classic Alsace varietals such as Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Muscat. The wines are known for their aromatic intensity, balance, and clarity, ranging from dry styles to late-harvest wines (Vendange Tardive and Sélection de Grains Nobles) with richness and aging potential.
As one of the leading producers in Alsace, Famille Hugel represents tradition, consistency, and excellence, offering wines that are elegant, expressive, and widely respected around the world.
