Domaine Courbis is one of the leading family-owned estates in France’s Northern Rhône Valley, managed by brothers Laurent and Dominique Courbis. Based in Châteaubourg near Cornas, the domaine has established a reputation for producing expressive, terroir-driven wines that combine power, elegance, and remarkable ageing potential.

The estate farms approximately 35 hectares of vineyards across some of the Northern Rhône’s most prestigious appellations, including Cornas, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage, and Saint-Péray. The region’s steep granite slopes, varied elevations, and continental climate provide ideal conditions for cultivating Syrah, Marsanne, and Roussanne, resulting in wines that reflect the unique character of their origins.

Domaine Courbis is particularly celebrated for its Cornas wines, crafted exclusively from Syrah. These wines typically display aromas of blackberry, black cherry, violet, black pepper, olive tapenade, smoke, and spice, supported by concentrated fruit, firm tannins, and excellent structure. The Saint-Joseph wines are known for their balance and finesse, while the Crozes-Hermitage range offers approachable yet authentic expressions of Northern Rhône Syrah.

The estate also produces highly regarded white wines from Marsanne and Roussanne, particularly from Saint-Péray and Saint-Joseph. These wines reveal flavours of citrus, apricot, white flowers, honey, and mineral notes, combining richness with freshness and precision.
