The 2022 Château Doisy-Védrines is a classic sweet Bordeaux from Barsac, produced by an estate classified as Second Growth in 1855. Presented in a convenient 375ml half bottle, it shows ripe apricot, peach and dried pear with notes of honey, saffron, citrus and gentle spice.
On the palate, it is rich and concentrated yet balanced by bright acidity, with layers of apricot, pineapple, citrus and honeyed fruit. The texture is full and smooth, leading to a long, mineral finish that keeps the sweetness fresh and composed. The wine is matured in oak barrels for around 18 months.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for those exploring traditionally made Sauternes and Barsac. The half-bottle format is particularly practical for the dining table. Enjoy with blue cheese, pâté, fruit-based desserts or crème brûlée, or cellar confidently for further development over the next 15–20 years.
