2018 Clos de la Dioterie Chinon Rouge from Chinon is one of the flagship single-vineyard wines from Domaine Charles Joguet. Made entirely from Cabernet Franc, this wine comes from a historic 2-hectare vineyard planted with old vines around 70–80 years old on limestone-rich clay soils, giving the wine impressive structure and ageing potential.
The 2018 vintage opens with aromas of blackberry, dark cherry and violet, layered with notes of spice, herbs and subtle earthy complexity. On the palate it is powerful yet refined, showing concentrated dark fruit, silky texture and firm but polished tannins. A chalky mineral backbone and vibrant acidity carry through to a long, elegant finish.
