The 2023 Domaine des Perdrix Bourgogne Rouge is an unusually serious Bourgogne Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits, produced from several parcels around Premeaux-Prissey, immediately south of Nuits-Saint-Georges. What makes this regional Burgundy particularly interesting is the age of the vines: the parcels were planted between 1956 and 1965, giving the wine old-vine concentration rarely encountered at Bourgogne level. The domaine farms approximately 2.97 hectares for this cuvée on predominantly clay-rich clay-limestone soils, applying the same level of vineyard care used for its more prestigious Premier Cru holdings. Domaine des Perdrix itself is part of the Devillard family's portfolio and is particularly renowned for its Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Perdrix, of which the domaine owns almost the entire vineyard.
