The 2022 Domaine Joliet Fixin Premier Cru Clos de la Perrière Monopole is a distinctive and powerful Pinot Noir from one of Fixin’s historic walled vineyards in the Côte de Nuits. Clos de la Perrière is a true monopole of Domaine Joliet, with approximately 4.5 hectares dedicated to Pinot Noir on clay-limestone soils and vines averaging around 50 years of age. The 2022 vintage received 93 points from Decanter and 91 points from Burghound, reflecting the quality and character of this unique Premier Cru.
On the palate, it is rich and beautifully structured, with ripe plum and black cherry complemented by raspberry, rose petal, subtle spice and a touch of dark chocolate. Fine tannins and fresh acidity balance the generous fruit, while a lightly stony mineral character adds definition to the long, persistent finish. The domaine uses a significant proportion of whole bunches during vinification, helping bring freshness and aromatic complexity to the naturally concentrated style of the 2022 vintage.
