2022 Mont-Redon Lirac Rouge

Fascinating nose of graphite and forest berries with a touch of dried rosemary. The fine tannins give the full-bodied palate an elegance rare in this appellation, which has a reputation for rusticity. Polished finish. 70% grenache, 20% syrah and 10% other varieties. 70% was matured in tanks and 30% in Burgundy barrels. Drink or hold. – 93 points, James Suckling, May 2024.
