2019 Lethbridge Allegra Chardonnay

The 2019 Lethbridge Allegra Chardonnay is a flagship, single-vineyard expression from one of Geelong’s most respected producers. Sourced from the historic Rebenberg vineyard—home to some of the region’s oldest Chardonnay vines—this wine represents the pinnacle of Lethbridge’s Chardonnay program, combining concentration, structure and long-term ageing potential. The nose is complex and deeply layered, showing lemon confit, grapefruit and white peach alongside nectarine and citrus blossom. These are intertwined with struck flint, oyster shell, salted nuts and subtle oak spice, with a distinct mineral and quartz-like character adding precision and intrigue.

On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with a tightly wound structure and impressive concentration. Vibrant acidity provides drive and tension, while a rounded, textural mouthfeel from lees work and full malolactic fermentation adds depth. Flavours of citrus, stone fruit and nougatine are supported by mineral intensity and finely integrated oak, leading to a long, powerful and persistent finish that balances richness with precision.
