The 2025 Xavier Goodridge Gippsland Chardonnay is a vibrant Chardonnay sourced from newly grafted vines at the Avon Vineyard in Maffra, together with selected barrels from the Avon Chardonnay program. Quartz-rich soils contribute a fine mineral character, while the nose shows rockmelon, white peach and citrus alongside subtle savoury and gently toasted oak notes.
On the palate, it is taut and precise with juicy stone fruit, fresh acidity and a long, mineral-driven finish. The hand-picked fruit was whole-bunch pressed before barrel fermentation, followed by full malolactic fermentation and ten months on lees. Maturation in French oak, including 30% new barrels, adds texture and subtle richness while maintaining freshness.
