The 2025 Xavier Avon Chardonnay is a single-vineyard Gippsland Chardonnay from Xavier Goodridge, sourced from the mature Avon Vineyard at Maffra. Planted in 1987, the small vineyard produces concentrated Chardonnay with a distinctive mineral character. The wine shows citrus, grapefruit and stone fruit alongside subtle nutty, savoury and lightly toasted notes.
On the palate, it is concentrated and textural with fresh acidity bringing definition to the ripe fruit. The Avon Chardonnay style combines citrus and orchard fruit with mineral detail, gentle lees-derived richness and carefully integrated French oak, creating a savoury, structured finish.
