The 2025 Quealy KK01 Pinot Noir is an elegant Mornington Peninsula red made from dry-grown MV6 Pinot Noir planted in 1994 at Balnarring. It shows fresh cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry alongside violet, spearmint, cinnamon spice and subtle earthy notes. The 2025 vintage produced fully developed tannins and refreshing acidity, giving the wine both immediate charm and a fine, structured finish.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied and finely textured, with vibrant acidity, chalky tannins and layers of fresh red berries and dark cherry. Raspberry and cherry are complemented by delicate floral, spearmint and spice notes, while a subtle mineral character adds tension and length. The fruit is generous without feeling heavy, and the tannins provide shape while remaining polished and integrated. The finish is dry, fresh and persistent, with lingering red fruit, savoury spice and a fine mineral edge.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for Pinot Noir drinkers who enjoy refined Mornington Peninsula reds with aromatic lift, fresh acidity and fine tannin. It is approachable in its youth but has enough structure to develop additional savoury and earthy complexity with bottle age. Best enjoyed over the next 5–8 years. Pair with roast duck and cherry jus, roast quail with mushrooms, pork tenderloin with fennel and apple, wild mushroom risotto, or grilled salmon with beetroot and fresh herbs.
