The 2025 Pooley Butcher’s Hill Pinot Noir is a single-vineyard expression from the steep, north-facing slopes of the family’s historic Richmond property in Tasmania’s Coal River Valley. It opens with high-toned aromas of candied cherry, raspberry and blueberry, complemented by wild violet, anise, white pepper and subtle savoury spice.
On the palate, it is elegant and finely textured, with bright berry fruit, fresh acidity and lean, precise tannins. Thirty percent whole-bunch fermentation contributes fragrance and gentle spice, while restrained French oak adds depth without masking the purity of the fruit. The finish is long, lifted and beautifully balanced.
