The 2025 Bekkers Petit Chablis continues Emmanuelle Bekkers’ personal Chablis project, which began in 2012 as a French counterpart to the acclaimed Bekkers wines of McLaren Vale. French-born Emmanuelle returns to Chablis to produce the wine, drawing on long-standing relationships with growers in the region. Bekkers describes Petit Chablis as the early-drinking introduction to its Chablis range, made entirely from Chardonnay and deliberately crafted without oak to preserve purity, freshness and the distinctive mineral character of the region.
Bright and energetic in style, the wine opens with white flowers, green apple, lemon and fresh citrus zest. The palate is light and precise, with lively lime and grapefruit acidity balanced by subtle mid-palate softness. A cool, stony mineral character runs throughout, leading to a clean, saline and refreshing finish. Rather than richness or obvious oak, the emphasis is firmly on clarity, tension and drinkability—the qualities that originally attracted Emmanuelle Bekkers to Chardonnay from Chablis.

At Wine More Cellars, Bekkers Petit Chablis is one of our favourite introductions to Chablis. It is crisp, mineral and beautifully restrained, with none of the buttery or heavily oaked character sometimes associated with Chardonnay. For customers who enjoy wines such as William Fèvre or other classical Chablis producers, this offers a particularly interesting Australian–French connection through Emmanuelle Bekkers. The 2025 is designed for youthful drinking—enjoy it well chilled over the next 3–5 years with oysters, sashimi, grilled fish, prawns or fresh goat cheese.
