The 2024 Tim Smith Old Vine Barossa Shiraz is a rich yet structured South Australian red showing blackberry, black plum and dark cherry with cracked pepper, liquorice and subtle savoury spice.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and concentrated, with balanced acidity, firm tannins and layers of dark fruit, pepper and earthy complexity. The finish is long, dry and persistent, with the structure to develop further in bottle.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for Shiraz drinkers seeking classic Barossa depth with old-vine character and structure. Best enjoyed from 2028–2040. Pair with slow-braised beef ribs, rosemary lamb shoulder, venison with pepper jus or roasted eggplant with tahini and herbs.
