The 2024 Taka K Waipara Pinot Noir is a refined cool-climate red from Waipara Valley in North Canterbury, New Zealand, made by Japanese winemaker Takahiro Koyama. The nose shows bright red cherry, raspberry and plum, layered with white pepper, subtle spice, earthy notes and a distinctive flinty mineral character.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with vibrant acidity and fine, ripe tannins, delivering fresh red fruit with savoury spice and mineral detail. Natural fermentation and maturation for 10 months in seasoned French oak help preserve fruit purity, leading to a dry, focused and persistent finish.
