The 2024 Joh. Jos. Prüm Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese is a beautifully precise Mosel Riesling from the steep, blue-slate soils of the celebrated Graacher Himmelreich vineyard. Made from ripe fruit with almost no botrytis influence, it shows lemon, green tangerine, greengage and white peach, with hints of mint and herbs adding freshness and complexity.
On the palate, it is concentrated yet remarkably light and energetic, balancing Auslese sweetness with vibrant acidity and a long saline, slate-driven mineral finish. At just 7.5% alcohol, it retains exceptional finesse. The wine received 97 points from Vinous, 95 points from James Suckling and 94 points from Wine Advocate.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an outstanding choice for Riesling lovers and collectors seeking sweetness balanced by citrus freshness and classic Mosel minerality. Beautiful young, but built for decades of development, with drinking windows extending to around 2060–2065. Ideal with spicy Thai dishes, pork belly, pâté, blue cheese or fruit-based desserts.
