The 2024 Tavel from Domaine L’Anglore is a vivid and expressive rosé that perfectly captures the estate’s distinctive natural-wine philosophy. Deep salmon to light garnet in colour, it immediately stands apart from the pale Provençal style. The nose is intensely aromatic, offering fresh raspberry, wild strawberry, redcurrant, rose petal, orange peel, and garrigue herbs, layered with subtle notes of white pepper, lavender, and sweet spice. The fruit is remarkably pure and lifted, with a floral perfume that is unmistakably L’Anglore.
On the palate, the wine combines freshness with surprising depth and texture. Juicy red berry fruits dominate initially, followed by blood orange, pomegranate, crushed herbs, and delicate spice. Despite its vibrant fruit profile, the wine remains dry and energetic, driven by bright acidity and a characteristic saline minerality. The texture is silky yet lightly structured, reflecting the gentle tannic grip that has long made traditional Tavel rosé one of the most gastronomic styles of rosé in France.
What makes the 2024 vintage particularly compelling is its balance between immediacy and complexity. The wine feels airy and vibrant while retaining the concentration and savoury depth that distinguish Tavel from simpler rosés. Notes of rose water, spice, fresh herbs, and stony minerality emerge on the long finish, creating a wine that drinks almost like a meeting point between a serious rosé and a very light red.
The finish is persistent, mineral, and subtly spicy, leaving impressions of red berries, dried flowers, citrus zest, and Mediterranean herbs. While delicious upon release, the wine has enough structure to develop additional complexity over the next 3–5 years.
