A refined single-vineyard Tasmanian Chardonnay from Ricky Evans’ Woodlawn label, combining texture, minerality and cool-climate precision. Wild fermented and matured on lees in French and Austrian oak, it shows excellent balance between richness and freshness.
The nose reveals lemon peel, white peach, grapefruit and subtle flinty reduction, layered with hints of pastry, oatmeal and oyster shell minerality. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with creamy texture, bright citrus acidity and a long saline finish. Focused and elegant, with impressive tension and detail throughout.
Ben’s Recommendation:
A serious, Burgundy-inspired Tasmanian Chardonnay with great purity and ageing potential. Excellent with lobster, scallops or roast chicken. Drink now or cellar through 2036+.
