The 2023 Immich-Batterieberg Zeppwingert Réserve Riesling is the pinnacle of the estate's dry Riesling collection, crafted from 100+ year-old ungrafted vines in the legendary Enkircher Zeppwingert vineyard in the Mosel. Rooted in dark grey slate soils, these ancient, deeply rooted vines produce tiny yields—just one 300-litre barrel in 2023. The wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured on its full lees for two years, resulting in extraordinary concentration, texture and complexity. The nose is intensely layered, revealing ripe apricot, white peach and preserved citrus intertwined with flint, wet slate, smoky nuances and delicate herbal notes. Serve lightly chilled at 9–11°C, with a short decant if enjoying young, or cellar confidently through 2055+ as its extraordinary complexity, minerality and elegance continue to evolve.
