The 2023 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Saint-Joseph Rouge is a refined Northern Rhône Syrah assembled from the family’s vineyards across Tournon, Mauves, Saint-Jean-de-Muzols and Lemps. It offers highly fragrant aromas of red cherry, blackberry and blueberry, accompanied by iris, dried violet, orange blossom, black pepper, menthol and smoky granite.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, layered and precise, with pure dark fruit, fresh acidity and ripe, polished tannins. The inclusion of approximately 30% whole bunches adds floral lift and gentle spice, while the granite-rich terroirs provide mineral tension. The finish is long and perfumed, carrying notes of violet, herbs, pepper and dark berries.
