The 2023 Domaine de Montille Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru Aux Malconsorts is one of the domaine’s most important Côte de Nuits wines, produced from an exceptional parcel immediately south of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti’s La Tâche Grand Cru. Malconsorts covers just 5.86 hectares in total and shares remarkably similar altitude, exposure and soils with its famous neighbour. Domaine de Montille’s principal 0.89-hectare parcel runs from the top to the bottom of the climat, incorporating lighter brown clay and stones higher on the slope and deeper red clay below. This diversity contributes both finesse and depth to a wine widely regarded as performing close to Grand Cru level.
